How many have you read?

Thanks to Sonya and Chan
How many have you read?

The Big Read is an NEA program designed to encourage community reading initiatives and of their top 100 books, they estimate the average adult has read only six.
*Look at the list and bold those we have read. I know NZ has a list and no doubt the Uk too. It would be good to share the other lists if any one has them to compare the reading tastes of the world.

*Italicize those we intend to read.
*Underline the books we LOVE .
That is just too much work, so I will make bold the titles I have read
Share this list in your blog, too, if you like.

59 for me, though most notably no Charles Dickens - I've never quite got on with him for some reason - do you have a favourite Dickens you would recommend I tried again with?

Oh - was I supposed to confess to a double-major that included English Lit? ;)

Great list! I had read 64 of those. Love to read and I love the list so I can go through and read the rest! I just wish I could find a better way to read and knit at the same time :).

Wow! What a fun post and how impressive! I have seen a Top 100 list here and, you're right, it's a bit different. I'm surprised at some of the books that are on the list -- and some that are missing. I sadly only had 20 -- oh my! There were several that I've started and never finished. Wouldn't that be a fun challenge, to finish the list???

95 out of 100 for me...I've always been an omivorous reader and love books & reading. Many of these I read as a teenager. But this 100 is a great list...Some I must revisit again soon. So many books, so little time ;o) I'm a huges Jane Austen fan, so glad several of her title are on the list. Happy reading & happy weekend ((HUGS))

Hi, I've read 52 books on that list but lot's of other great books on other lists like Amherst. It was fun to go through. I could not imagine only reading 6 books on that list in my life time.

Oh dear, only 18 for me, although I love reading! My parents were both librarians so books have always been a big part of my life - just not these kinds, I guess. At school for O levels we had to read Pride & Prejudice and Great Expectations - I didn't actually finish either of them and it put me off both Austen & Dickens permanently. There are quite a few books on that list I'd still like to read, though.

I confess to not having read many. I used to read a lot more than I do now. x

Hi, I've found a UK list and put it on my blog - 50 is my total from your list. The two lists are a little different but lots of similarities
